Getting Started
1. How do I register as a contributor/photographer?
Kindly register and create an account at the Registration Page.
During the registration process make sure you check the box entitled 'Sign-up as 123rf photographer/contributor'
and fill up your details accordingly.
Next head over to the Upload Images page and agree to the 123RF.com Photo Contributor Agreement.
2. When am I considered an approved contributing photographer at 123rf?
You are officially an 123rf contributor once you have uploaded a valid
form of ID documentation and have passed the initial 10 images which you've
submitted. Once your application is approved, you may upload more images as any of our existing Contributors.
3. What's the royalty structure at 123rf?

Stock oriented images with high commercial values. Please do not submit images with bad composition, poor lighting and are blurred.
Images which are shot unplanned. Please do not submit candid shots and any impromptu subjects. Please ensure that your submissions have been keyworded appropriately.

Submission
1. What are your photographer submission terms and conditions?
2. What image format does 123rf accept?
Stock photos:
- Images should be at least 4 Million pixels (2200 x 1700). Anything lesser will be automatically rejected.
- JPEG format only with minimal 80% quality compression.
Illustrations:
- Vector image file in EPS format.
3. What happens if I submit images which do not fulfill any one of the requirements given?
The images will be rejected accordingly with a given reason which you can view in your upload history.
4. What kind of images are preferred by 123rf?
Stock oriented images with high commercial values. Avoid submitting images with bad composition, poor lighting and blurred; images which are basically shot unplanned. Forget candid shots and any impromptu subjects.
5. Are editorial images accepted?
No, we do not accept editorial images (without release). All images at 123rf are fully model-released.
6. Can scanned pictures be uploaded?
It's not recommend, but they are still acceptable. We suggest using at least 300 DPI for photos. However, the DPI should be increased dramatically if you are scanning negatives.
7. Does 123rf accept illustrations?
We welcome illustrations. Vector files should only be in EPS format.
8. What about properties, landmarks and logos?
An image of a property/landmark/logo may require a signed property release if it is to be used for commercial purposes.
For example a picture of an identifiable house would require a signed release from the owner. If in doubt, remove all identifiable logos and trademarks from your images if you plan on selling them for commercial purposes. However, please be careful when submitting images with buildings that have patented some technology or design. An image with Eiffel Tower in the morning can be used for stock purposes but the same image at night with the lights on are trademarked and may not be sold as the design of lights are copyrighted.
9. Do I still have the right to use the photos or do I hand over the complete rights of my pictures to 123rf?
The copyright to the images belong to the photographer. We are merely selling them for you.
10. I have photos on the other stock sites, can I upload them to your site too?
Photos are submitted on a royalty-free basis (not exclusive). You may submit and continue to sell your photos to other websites and stock photo agencies.
11. How many images can I submit at a time?
There's no limit to the amount of images that you can submit at one time.
12. How do I know if an image has been approved or rejected?
You will receive a notification via e-mail after each review (if you enabled the "Notify me whenever my images are reviewed" under 'My Profile'), or log in to see your 'Upload History'.
13. What happens to my rejected uploads?
Rejected images will remain in your 'Rejected' folder until you delete them.
14. I just uploaded some images, but I can't find them on the site?
Approved images go through a batching process before they are made available in a search.
15. How long does it normally take from I submit pictures until they are available to buy?
Accepted images will appear on site in less than 12 hours.
16. How can I get my images removed from my portfolio?
Sign in to your account, go to your 'Upload History' and click on 'View Images' of whichever date your image was submitted. Click on the checkbox of the selected image which you wish to delete on the right side. After selecting the checkbox, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click 'Save Changes' on the right corner. The selected image will then be removed.
17. How long will the review process take?
Your images should be approved within 18 working hours after submission. Please check your pending folder and make sure that your images have it's proper Description and Keywords. We will not review images without a description and/or keywords. If your images take longer than 18 hours, please send us an email: submission@123rf.com and we'll check your account for you.
Keywords
1. Any guidelines which I need to consider when I keyword and describe images?
Be precise and descriptive. Enter a minimum of 7 keywords for each image. Providing more keywords enables your image to match more searches and can be easily found. However, refrain from adding unrelated keywords (spamdexing) in order to have your images appear more often in any search.
2. How can I edit keywords of images that I have submitted?
You can edit keywords of your pending images as long as they have not been reviewed. It's not possible for you to do so once the images have been accepted. Be a little more meticulous when filling in the keywords/descriptions to avoid any errors.
3. I've got my own website, can I put a link to your website with your logo on my site, and say that I am a contributor to 123rf?
Yes, you can. In fact this is what we encourage contributors to do - create more links and 123rf integrated search engine into your website. 4. Why must I provide keywords in English only? Should I add keywords in my native language as well?
123RF's system will auto-translate searches made in Italian/German/French/Chinese/Spanish to its English equivalent and retrieve the results normally. There is no need for you to expand additional effort to insert keywords of a language other than English.
Release
1. What is a release?
A model/property release is a written agreement between the model/property owner and the photographer whereby the model/owner gives his/her permission to the photographer to use the photographs commercially in perpetuity (meaning for all time). Releases can permit the use of the image(s) for all purposes, or may contain exceptions for certain usages.
2. Where can I obtain model/property release forms?
Once you have created a photographer account with us, you may proceed to download the appropriate Model and Property Releases from the Release Folder.
3. How do I submit a completed model/property release form together with my image?
To upload a release(s), create a single JPG/PDF file containing the documents for all persons within your image. Upload it to the release folder in your account and attach all related images which you have submitted to the release.
4. How do I get a release for a deceased model?
The next of kin or a close relative must sign the release on their behalf if an image is to be used commercially.
5. The image I submit has myself in it. Do I need a model release?
Yes, all models are required to sign a proper release if the images are to be sold for commercial purposes.
Payments
1. My account has surpassed the minimum payout limit. How do I request for payment?
No request is necessary. if you are eligible, we will pay you according to the payment method you have selected in your profile.
We normally process payments by the 3rd working day of every month.
Payments should reach you latest in 2 weeks time for Paypal and MoneyBookers.
For photographers who have opted to receive payments via check, please allow up to a month for the check to reach you.
2. What forms of payment does 123rf offer?
Payments are sent out via bank checks, PayPal and Moneybookers.
